Open Social is an open source community software adopted by thousands of organizations. We power many great online communities, one of which is Victims Support The Netherlands – our winner!

Meet the winner: Victims Support The Netherlands

Victims Support helps over 200,000 victims of crimes, traffic accidents, and calamities in The Netherlands in an external crisis community. It offers a network of support which is facilitated by proactive community management.

1 in every 5 Dutch people is confronted annually with a crime, traffic accident or disaster. The organization recognized that a listening ear is not enough. Victims need more support. Since their old forum functionality didn’t do its job anymore, they went looking for a new online community platform to replace the outdated public forum functionality – and found Open Social!

It also has an intranet of over 4,000 volunteers that support victims in processing the event and, where possible, offer emotional, practical and legal assistance. Find more information on the Open Social showcase.
